Coconut Oil Soap Making

Due to popular demand, Holly decided to make a tutorial on making a single-oil cold process soap.

A pure coconut oil soap is different from the usual cold-soap-making processes. It breaks the convention of not using more than 30 percent coconut oil in a recipe because it will be too drying. It also uses 20% superfat, way beyond the usual 8% limit to prevent the soap from being too soft. However, Holly used a high super fat to counter the drying effect of the coconut oil. The result is a strong cleansing soap derived mostly from coconut oil’s properties.

She also advised to keep the overheating tendencies in mind. Learn how to properly make one with Holly’s guidance in this video.
