The pandemic has brought about a lot of changes in the way we live our lives. This means that office workers and students are now stuck at home, often with no proper area to do their work. This is why Alexandra has thought of sharing her small space office makeover with us to draw some inspiration from. If you have a small unused space at home, maximize that and turn it into your own little professional nook.
The key to redesigning your own space is to know your home. If like Alexandra, the walls of your home expand in cold weather, forego wallpaper. Here, Alexandra decides to repaint the walls instead of using wallpaper.
Design tip: When unsure of which color to choose for your office space, you can test the colors you have in mind on small portions on the wall. You can swatch it like you would with makeup, or print the colors out and tape them up side by side to see what colors suit your office the most.
To be safe, go with neutral colors that match the color scheme of the rest of the room. If your room is in a warm color, it would be best to color the walls of your office in the same tone. After repainting the walls, don’t forget to organize your things as well.
Organizers, binders, cabinets, baskets, and folders can really help keep things tidy in your tiny space. You can also use a peg board to keep all the important space up- that way they aren’t taking up any lateral space. Be practical as well. If you can’t go out to buy new office supplies and furniture, you can opt to use the objects found in your home and repurpose them.
