Slow Cooker Pork Stew

Stew is the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about slow cooker recipes. With good reason, of course! The best stews already take a lot of time to cook, and the slow cooker may just be the best environment to cultivate the flavors that make stews hearty and delicious.

Pork shoulder is usually the cut of meat for slow cooked stews, but you can also use pork sirloin. The best thing about this is that they are usually the cheaper cuts of meat. They normally tend to be tougher, but also tastier, and when slow cooked, that tough and well marbled meat turns fork tender.

Incredibly satisfying when eaten, stews don’t usually need anything else, and are pretty much a complete meal on their own. That said, it would taste incredible with rice, roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, and fresh bread. Slow Cooking Perfected also recommends eating it with Yorkshire pudding, or cornbread!
