Dulce. Commonly used to describe desserts, less commonly used as a name for baby girls. Regardless of how it's used, it describes sweet things, which is what Silvia has in store for us in her Concha Tres Leches recipe!

Tres leches cake(meaning: three milk cake) is a popular and familiar dessert with a lot of variations. Consistent in these variations are the three kinds of milk that are used to soak the cake: evaporated milk, condensed milk, and heavy cream.

Conchas(meaning: shell) are round in shape, made from a sweetened bread roll, with a striped, crunchy sugar topping patterned to resemble a seashell. Conchas are popular enough that many variations exist. Depending on how you want it, you can get conchas with differing sugar toppings like chocolate and coffee.

Combine these two, and you get Concha Tres Leches Cake. The name might be a bit uninspired, but it certainly makes up for it in taste and presentation. Adding conchas adds texture and a bit of color to an already classic dessert, giving it a new twist. With Silvia's mom's secret tres leches recipe and her easy to follow instructions, dulce will be something to eat, not read about.
